Cynthia Pangborn for Grosse Pointe School Board

What I'll do

- Security: The safety of our children is of the utmost importance and will be a priority during my term.

- Education: Small class sizes with a full curriculum will help address those pockets of students with declining test scores.

- Communication: I will work tirelessly to make sure school board meetings aren't a one-way conversation.

- Financial transparency: You will know how much is being spent by our schools at every level. Every administration position will be evaluated for relevance.

What I've done

- Served on school board from 1996 to 2000.

- Fought to keep six elementary schools open and stopped the sale of the administration building.

- Personally started televising school board meetings, paving the way for expansion of the video curriculum in the schools.

- Career of volunteering and pioneering innovative programs that are still in use.

Personal

- Lifelong Grosse Pointe resident and local real estate agent for 12 years.

- Along with husband Jim Pangborn, raised four children who went through Grosse Pointe public schools with youngest graduating in 2005.

- Current elementary school volunteer for grandchildren.

- Frequent attendee and participant in school board and budget meetings for the past nine years.
